I have Rats in my Car

After the months of confinement we have experienced, many customers have contacted us to purchase a repeller because they had mice or rats in their cars. Rats and mice like to take refuge under the car hood, especially when the vehicle is parked for weeks.

  • Rodents and other animals often seek shelter under the car hood, especially during winter and cold days.
  • Car engines are warm, dry, and quiet places. They provide an ideal refuge for rodents to feed, rest, and reproduce.
  • The components used to manufacture spark plug cables, hoses, and turbochargers are made of corn starch, potato, or sugarcane. That’s why rodents chew on them because they love them.
  • Once rats or mice have taken refuge under the car hood, they can cause considerable damage.
  • Engine cables are particularly vulnerable to rodent damage. If rodents bite through the insulation covering the cables, they can cause short circuits, leading to costly damage to the engine.
  • The cost of repairing this type of damage can range from €100 to €3000.

Protect Your Car from Rats and Mice. Prevention is Better than Cure

If you are going to leave your vehicle (car, camper, tractor… or even lawnmower) parked for days, or if you have the car stored in a basement or garage where you think there may be rats or mice, we recommend protecting it with a car mouse repellent.
